Tournament Poker Buy-Ins Add Up
Life Is Expensive for the Traveling Tournament Pro

It costs money to play poker, and if you’re considering life on the poker tournament circuit, you better have a bundle set aside for buy-ins.

It cost $355,550 to play in every World Poker Tour (WPT), World Series of Poker Circuit, and World Series event in 2005. Roll in travel costs and it is conceivable that playing big-buy-in poker costs a half million a year.

While the price is high, the spoils are ridiculous. These events generated a total prize pool of over $187 million.

Players who competed in all the WPT television events in 2005 invested $139,350 in buy-ins that ranged from $5,100 to $25,500 for the season’s championship event. The buy-ins generated over $67 million in prize money.

Players who traveled around the country for all the World Series of Poker Circuit events had to put up $100,200 for the 10 events. A total of $18,672,705 was won at the tournaments.

To play in all the events at the World Series this past summer, players needed to wire Harrah’s $116,000. Players won over $101 million at what was the richest sporting event in history. More than half (over $52 million) came from the massive field the main event attracted.

Last year's World Series of Poker shattered all participation and prize money records for a live poker tournament. The 45 events generated 32,341 player entries  and more than $106 million   in gross prize money. Joseph Hachem of Melbourne, Australia, won the World Series of Poker Championship and an unprecedented $7.5 million.

daher stimmt deine Frage/Aussage:

World Championship
Event
28-Jul-06 Friday 12 Noon Day 1A 2000 play down to 800

30-Jul-06 Sunday 12 Noon Day 1C 2000 play down to 800
31-Jul-06 Monday 12 Noon Day 1D 2000 play down to 800
1-Aug-06 Tuesday 12 noon A + B 1600 to 700
2-Aug-06 Wednesday 12 noon C + D 1600 to 700
3-Aug-06 Thursday Day off for main event
3-Aug-06 Thursday 10:00 AM 39 No-Limit Hold'em $1,000.00
1 day event
4-Aug-06 Friday 12 noon ABCD Play 1400 down to 600
5-Aug-06 Saturday 12 noon Play 600 down to 300
5-Aug-06 Saturday 10:00 AM 40 No-Limit Hold'em $1,500.00
6-Aug-06 Sunday 12 noon Play 300 down to 150
6-Aug-06 Sunday 10:00 AM 41 No-Limit Hold'em $1,500.00
7-Aug-06 Monday 12 noon Play 150 down to 60
7-Aug-06 Monday 10:00 AM 42 No-Limit Hold'em $1,500.00
8-Aug-06 Tuesday 12 noon Play 60 down to 27
8-Aug-06 Tuesday 10:00 AM 43 No-Limit Hold'em $1,500.00
9-Aug-06 Wednesday 12 noon Play 27 down to 9
9-Aug-06 Wednesday 10:00 AM 44 No-Limit Hold'em $1,500.00
10-Aug-06 Thursday 12 noon Final Table

Was bedeutet denn:

Was bedeutet die 41 ?
:chin:

Bling-Bling: Redesigned Gold WSOP Bracelets Flush with Diamo

Bling-Bling: Redesigned Gold WSOP Bracelets Flush with Diamonds

Players lucky and good enough to win a World Series of Poker bracelet this year will be doubly lucky. They will be the first group of players to receive a newly designed WSOP bracelet that features white gold and plenty of diamonds.

Forty-five bracelets will be won this year, and all but one will be exactly the same. Each winner receives a bracelet made of 14-karat yellow gold and enhanced with full-cut white diamonds. The center plaques are hand-set with 66 diamonds weighing one-third of a carat and is supported by roughly 35 grams of a solid diamond cut rope chain.

The winner of the main event receives a bracelet unlike the other 44. It will also be made of 14-karat gold, but the center plaque will be filled with more diamonds than Marilyn Monroe would know what to do with.

The WSOP champion's bracelet will be set with 170 hand-picked diamonds weighing more than six carats. The bracelet's center features uniquely shaped precious color stones to represent the suit designs: a heart-shaped ruby for the heart suit, a princess cut-shaped ruby for the diamond suit, a black sapphire for the spade suit and three round black diamonds for the club suit.

And talk about bling-bling. The bracelet's plaque is supported by roughly 58 grams of solid diamond cut rope chain.

“It's impossible to overstate the value of a World Series of Poker gold bracelet to anyone who takes the game seriously: It is the equivalent of winning the Stanley Cup in hockey or the Lombardi Trophy in football," said WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack in a press release. “The champion’s bracelet at the 37th annual World Series of Poker will be the best ever - something the winner will take pride in for a lifetime.”

Harrah’s also announced that TRITON Jewelry, a division of Frederick Goldman, Inc., had developed the bracelets as well as a specialized line of jewelry for men and women modeled on its design.

The new line, which will consist of pendants, bracelets, cuff links, rings, a key ring and a money clip, will feature the WSOP logo and be thematically consistent with the champion's bracelet. The new line of jewelry will be available at independent jewelers and merchants in the Fall.
