Tom Dwan Becomes First Player To Top $1 Million Dollar Mark on Full Tilt More Than Once

Earlier this week, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond accumulated a stack of over $1 million dollars on "GusHeaven", one of the $500/$1000 No Limit Hold'em tables on Full Tilt Poker. Galfond joined Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies as the only players to have ever accomplished this task.

Not to be outdone, "durrrr" became the only player to ever top the $1 million dollar mark more than once after running up a huge stack on "Ivey Mix" late last night / early this morning.

"durrrr" accomplished this task while sitting at a table with some of the best players in the world, including David Benyamine and Phil Ivey.

When all was said and done, "durrrr" managed to accumulate a stack of over $1.3 million dollars on the "Ivey Mix" table, before losing some of it back.

Dwan is off to an unbelievable start this month, and is likely up around $2 million dollars on Full Tilt over the first nine days of December.

There were a number of remarkable hands during the session. Here are two that caught my eye - the one that moved "durrrr" over the $1 million dollar mark, and an amazing hand vs David Benyamine and Phil Galfond.

1. Dwan vs Benyamine vs Galfond. Before the hand, "durrrr" has around $550k, Galfond has $99k and Benyamine has around $200k. Galfond is in the SB, Benyamine is in the BB and Dwan has the button.

Everyone folds to Dwan, who raises to $3,500 from the button. Galfond raises to $11,500 from the SB, Benyamine calls, Dwan re-raises to $46,000, Galfond and Benyamine both call.

The flop comes 8-J-3 rainbow. Galfond pushes his remaining stack, Benyamine pushes as well, and "durrrr" calls.

Benyamine shows J-K-A-9 double-suited for top pair and a backdoor flush draw.

Galfond shows J-8-10-Q for top two pair and a gutshot straight draw.

Dwan shows K-K-5-5 for an overpair.

The turn brought the 5 of clubs, giving Dwan a set. Benyamine was now drawing dead, while Galfond would need a Jack, Eight or Nine to win the pot.

The river brought ANOTHER five (the five of spades), giving Dwan Quad fives. Dwan took down the $504k pot, and both Galfond and Benyamine likely shook their heads in disbelief.

2. "durrrr" vs "world1969". "world1969" raised pre-flop to $3,500. Phil Ivey called. Dwan raised to $15,500 from the button, and both Ivey and "world1969" called.

The flop came 5-Q-4 with two hearts. "world1969" led out with a bet of $48,000. Ivey folded, Dwan pushed and "world1969" called.

"durrrr" showed K-9-A-Q with two hearts, while "world1969" showed Q-10-7-8 with two hearts as well. "durrrr" was ahead in the hand, as he had the better kicker on his pair of Queens and the higher flush draw. "world1969" had a gutshot straight draw as well.

The turn was the 2 of clubs, helping neither player.

The river was the Jack of hearts, giving Dwan the better flush and the $411k pot. With this pot, Dwan moved over the $1 million dollar mark on "Ivey Mix", becoming the first player to ever accomplish this twice in his career.

The high-stakes games on Full Tilt have been great as of late - let's hope that this continues.

Beitrag Phil Ivey Ends 2008 With a Total Profit of Over $7.5 Million
Phil Ivey Ends 2008 With a Total Profit of Over $7.5 Million on Full Tilt Poker

2008 is now in the books. Our mini-vacation is over, and now it's back to business.

Pokerstars might be the biggest online poker room in the world, but Full Tilt Poker is the king of high-stakes cash games. The best players in the world gravitated to Full Tilt Poker in 2008, creating some of the biggest cash games in the world.

Full Tilt accommodated the high-stakes players by creating a number of new tables, including "RailHeaven", "GusHeaven", "Ivey Mix" and others. There were regular games at stakes as high as $500/$1000, in games such as No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha and PLO/PLHE mix.

The new tables helped to create some of the biggest pots in the history of online poker. The record for largest ever online cash game pot was broken multiple times in 2008 - there were four pots alone in 2008 that went over the $650k mark. At the end of 2008, the largest ever pot was won by Di "Urindanger" Dang, a $723k monster that came against Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

Multiple players accumulated a stack of over $1 million in one sitting. Tom Dwan and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies both accomplished this task multiple times - Phil Galfond managed to top the mark as well. A few days ago, "Ziigmund" possessed a stack of just around $1.7 million dollars on one table before giving some of it back.

It was truly a crazy year on Full Tilt Poker.

In the end, Phil Ivey was the most profitable player on the site according to HighStakesDB.com. Ivey made over $7.5 million dollars on the year, and played just 95,248 tracked hands.

Phil "OMGClayAiken" managed to narrow the gap between himself and Phil Ivey tremendously over the last couple of weeks of 2008. Galfond finished the year with a total profit of $6.97 million dollars on Full Tilt. An absolutely stellar year for Galfond, especially considering the fact that he also won a bracelet at the 2008 WSOP.

Tom "durrrr" Dwan finished with a total profit of $5.36 million dollars. Rounding out the top five were the Dang brothers, "Urindanger" and "trex313". "Urindanger" finished with a total profit of $3.68 million dollars, while "trex313" finished with a profit of $3.04 million.

The rest of the top ten looked like this:

6. David Benyamine, +2.9 million
7. "howisitfeellike", +2.67 million
8. "CHUFTY", +2.36 million
9. "La Key U", +2.14 million
10. Patrik Antonius, +1.91 million

The bottom ten was dominated by accounts that are rumored to belong to Guy Laliberte.

Out of the top ten worst performing accounts in 2008, at least five are rumored to belong to billionaire Guy Laliberte.

"lady marmelade" led the way with a total loss of $6.63 million dollars in 2008. This staggering loss came over just 36,712 hands, which makes the loss that much more impressive.

"patatino" shed $4.3 million dollars of his bankroll in 2008, over just 36,496 hands. "elmariachimacho" lost $4.16 million, "Bleachbum" lost $1.097 million and "noataima" lost $990k in 2008. All five of these accounts are believed to belong to Laliberte.

Here is the full list of the top ten biggest losers on Full Tilt Poker in 2008:

1. "lady marmelade", -6.6 million
2. "patatino", -4.32 million
3. "elmariachimacho", -4.16 million
4. "Bleachbum", -1.09 million
5. "SteveSung", -1.01 million
6. "PostFlopAction", -999k
7. "noataima", -990k
8. John Juanda, -988k
9. "MSampoerna", -945k
10. "ahtata", -926k

Who knows what 2009 has in store, but we'll be here to cover all of it.

Beitrag Gus Hansen Up Over $2.5 Million Dollars in 2009
Gus Hansen Up Over $2.5 Million Dollars in 2009

Gus Hansen seems to have replaced Guy Laliberte as the new "easy mark" in the high-stakes cash games on Full Tilt Poker.

The only problem - Gus has started 2009 on an unbelievable rush, posting a profit of $2.63 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker in just 24 days (over a total of 27,294 tracked hands).

This hot streak has come at the expense of a number of players, namely Tom "durrrr" Dwan. Dwan has dropped over $2.8 million dollars to start the year, and a great deal of this has been lost to Hansen.

Hansen has been the subject of some gentle ribbing from his high-stakes competitors as of late.

Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond said recently that Hansen was a "good player" playing in a game of "world class players", and was likely the reason that the $500/$1000 games were running as of late.

Tom Dwan practically begged Hansen to sit down and play at the Million Dollar cash game at the Aussie Millions today. Hansen refused, saying that he had been drinking - Dwan offered to drink heavily in order to "catch up", but only if Hansen sat at the table.

So far this year, Hansen is getting the last laugh. Now let's see if the notoriously high-variance Hansen can keep it up.

Beitrag Patrik Antonius Up Big In January
Patrik Antonius Up Big In January

A few days ago, we told you about how Tom "durrrr" Dwan is off to a rough start so far in January. Since then, things have continued to go poorly for Dwan - he is now down almost $2.8 million dollars in January.

"LarsLuzak" has also had a rough start to 2009, having dropped over $1.56 million dollars over the first 18 days of the month.
So if "durrrr" and "LarsLuzak" have dropped over four million dollars between the two of them in January - who is winning?

The answer - Patrik Antonius and Gus Hansen.

Both players are having ridiculous starts to the year. Gus Hansen has made approximately $2.4 million dollars so far this month over 15,540 tracked hands. That's an unbelievable upswing, even for Gus Hansen.
Despite having an extraordinary start to the year, Hansen has been outdone by fellow Team Full Tilt member, Patrik Antonius. Antonius has had an unbelievable month so far, even by his lofty standards.

So far this month, Antonius is up over $2.92 million dollars over just 8,357 tracked hands.

That works out to an average of $349.40 in profit for every hand that he has played on the site so far this month.

Phil Ivey made $7.33 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker in all of 2008, the most of any player on the site. Antonius has made nearly half of that in just 18 days.
Not to say that Antonius won't have a pullback, as I am sure that he will. This is just to illustrate how ridiculous of an 18-day upswing that this has been for Antonius.
Not only is Antonius on a sick upswing, but he also finished Day 1A of the Aussie Millions main event as one of the chipleaders. Not a bad start to the month.

Beitrag Ivey Up $3.4 Million Dollars on Full Tilt In the Past Month
Ivey Up $3.4 Million Dollars on Full Tilt In the Past Month

fter getting off to a rocky start in 2009, Phil Ivey has come roaring back and is now up over $1.3 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker this year.

Ivey ended 2008 as the single biggest winner on Full Tilt Poker, raking in a total of $7.34 million dollars over just 95,884 tracked hands. This put him ahead of such players as Phil Galfond, Tom Dwan and Di Dang.

When Ivey got off to a poor start in 2009, many people were naturally a bit surprised. No player, no matter how good they are, is going to avoid down months when they regularly play in $500/$1000 games against the best players in the world. However, when Phil dropped nearly $1.8 million dollars over the first 45 days of the year, people were still a bit surprised.

Over the past month (February 10th until now), Phil Ivey has returned to his old dominating ways. He has destroyed anyone and everyone in his path, raking in a total of $3.4 million dollars over just 11,004 tracked hands. This works out to a total profit of around $309 for each and every hand that he has played over the past month.

A great deal of Ivey's profits in 2009 have come at the expense of Tom "durrrr" Dwan, who is currently suffering through a very large downswing.

With his incredible turnaround over the past month, Phil Ivey has climbed out of the red and is now up over $1.3 million dollars on the year. This makes him the fourth most profitable player in 2009 on Full Tilt, behind Hac "trex313" Dang (+4.2 million), Mark Vos (+1.87 million) and Gus Hansen (+1.45 million).

Beitrag Dwan, Antonius Lead Way on Full Tilt Poker in March
Dwan, Antonius Lead Way on Full Tilt Poker in March

After getting off to a horrible start in 2009, Tom "durrrr" Dwan managed to claw back some of his previous losses, making a total of $1.595 million dollars over 25,761 tracked hands in March.

Dwan had an up and down month in March, but managed to finish on a high note, netting over $1 million dollars in profits in the last two days of the month.

"durrrr" is still down over $2 million dollars in 2009 on Full Tilt Poker, however he is far less in the red than he was a month ago.

Two other players managed to bank over seven figures in profit in March on Full Tilt Poker, and they were:

"luckexpress10" (+1.08 million)
Patrik Antonius (+1.03 million)

With his million dollar profit in March, Patrik Antonius is now up just shy of three million dollars in 2009.

Other players that had strong months in March included:

Gus Hansen (+995k)
Phil Ivey (+977k)
Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond (+704k)

On the other side of the results, two well-known players turned in seven figure losses on Full Tilt in March.

The biggest loss belonged to Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, who managed to lose around $1.66 million dollars on the month. "Ziigmund" is still up around $155k for the year so far.

The second biggest loss belonged to Di "Urindanger" Dang, who suffered a $1.593 million dollar hit to his bankroll in March. "Urindanger", a very solid high-stakes player who rarely has a losing month, is off to a slow start in 2009, having dropped nearly $2 million dollars on the year.

Other players who suffered substantial losses in March included:

"LarsLuzak" (-607k)
"ahtata" (-370k)
"Gypsie Queen" (-360k)

March also saw a bit of progress being made in the "durrrr" challenge, although the challenge is far from over.

As it stands right now, Patrik Antonius is currently in the lead with a total profit of $23,467 after 7,068 completed hands (50,000 hands minimum are needed to complete the challenge).

Many of the well-known players who got off to slow starts in 2009 (Galfond, Dwan, Ivey) managed to post profitable months in March, and it will be interesting to see if they can continue their winning ways into April and beyond.

Beitrag Gus Hansen Goes on a Tear to Close out April
Gus Hansen, who is known for his massive bankroll swings, finished April with a near three million dollar upswing on Full Tilt Poker.

According to HighStakesDB.com (link below), Gus Hansen went on a tear from April 24th to April 30th, making around $2.95 million dollars for himself on Full Tilt Poker during that time.

The $2.95 million dollars of profit came over just 8,650 tracked hands, meaning that Hansen made approximately $341 for every hand that he played over the past week.

I've been following the high-stakes games on Full Tilt Poker for some time now, and I can't remember anyone posting such a large profit over just 7 days.

The funny thing is that this massive upswing wasn't even enough to allow Hansen to have a profitable month in April.

Prior to the three million dollar upswing, Gus Hansen had been down over $3.3 million dollars from April 1st to April 23rd. When all was said and done, Hansen ended up losing around $358k in April. That being said, I'm sure that Hansen will take it after being down so much earlier in April.

With this three million dollar surge in late April, Gus Hansen has regained his standing as one of the most profitable players on Full Tilt Poker in 2009. Hansen has booked a $2.8 million dollar profit on the year, and is currently third behind Patrik Antonius (+5.08 million dollars) and Hac "trex313" Dang (+3.0 million dollars).

Hansen going on a massive tear in the last week of April meant that somebody lost a great deal of money as well.

That player was Tom "durrrr" Dwan. Dwan managed to drop just over $2 million dollars in the last week of April, and is now staring at a $2.7 million dollar loss in 2009. Dwan, who got off to a horrible start in 2009, managed to claw his way back out of a multi-million dollar hole, but has since endured a near three million dollar downswing.

Other players who donated to Hansen's upswing included: Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond (-798k), David "MR B 2 U SON" Benyamine (-777k) and Di "Urindanger" Dang (-436k).

Beitrag Niki Jedlicka Up Around $2 Million Dollars Since Wednesday
Niki Jedlicka Up Around $2 Million Dollars Since Wednesday

There was a period of time, back in 2007, when Niki Jedlicka was one of the hottest poker players in the world.

Niki Jedlicka seemingly appeared out of nowhere and starting inflicting heavy damage on some of the high-stakes regulars.

Jedlicka, under his "Kaibuxxe" alias, won nearly $3.2 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker in 2007. Almost all of this money came in the high-stakes PLO games on the site.

"Kaibuxxe" then signed a sponsorship deal with Full Tilt Poker, and soon reappeared on the site as "Niki Jedlicka".

Immediately his results went downhill. While "Kaibuxxe" finished 2007 nearly $3.2 million dollars in the black, "Niki Jedlicka" finished the year over $1.6 million dollars in the red.

In the months following, Jedlicka elected to largely avoid the bigger games that ran on Full Tilt Poker. People largely forgot about Niki Jedlicka after 2007.

Jedlicka has re-emerged with a vengeance in 2009. He slowly moved up in stakes, and is now running extremely hot in high-stakes PLO once again.

How hot?

Well, over the past two days on Full Tilt Poker, Jedlicka is reportedly up around $2 million dollars.

Yesterday, according to HighstakesDB.com, Jedlicka won over a million dollars, bludgeoning players such as Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Di "Urindanger" Dang and David Benyamine.

Today the onslaught continued.

Jedlicka tangled with Patrik Antonius in a high stakes, heads-up battle, with Jedlicka emerging as the clear winner.

The battle between the two (which took place earlier today) featured a $563k pot that was won by Jedlicka.

After some pre-flop raising, there was approximately $38k in the middle when the flop came:

Jc-8s-3d

Antonius checked, Jedlicka bet $28,750 and Antonius called.

The turn brought the 9s, and both players checked.

The river brought the 10s.

Antonius checked. Jedlicka bet $62,450. Antonius raised to $234,000, and Jedlicka instantly made the call.

Antonius showed 7d-9h-As-Ah for a Jack high straight. Antonius had the As in his hand and was hoping to bluff Jedlicka out of the pot.

Jedlicka showed Tc-6s-4h-Qs for a Queen high flush and took down the monster pot. Jedlicka didn't waste any time in making the call, clearly not believing that Antonius had a better flush.

--

Jedlicka is an extremely streaky player, so it will be interesting to see how he does over the coming weeks and months.

One thing is for sure - when Jedlicka is sitting at the table, there is always more action.

Beitrag Re: Die Stars der Onlinepoker-Scene
Cole South, Richard Ashby Dominate in July

The cash games in "Bobby's Room" were apparently very good during the World Series of Poker, so many high stakes regulars on Full Tilt Poker were notably absent for much of June and July.

However, the second half of the month saw names such as Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Patrik Antonius make their way back to Full Tilt Poker as the games at the Bellagio started to dry up.

David Benyamine turned up as well, having signed a new sponsorship deal with the site.

Richard Ashby (formerly known as "CHUFTY") and Cole South managed to finish on top of the cash game leaderboard in July.

Ashby finished the month up around $1.82 million dollars, while South finished the month up around $1.3 million. South's incredible rush over the past couple of days accounted for a great deal of his profits in July.

Phil Ivey (+704k), Rafi "howisitfeellike" Amit (+669k) and Brian Hastings (+636k) rounded out the list of the top five most profitable players on the site in July.

Cardrunners.com was well-represented in July, as three of their "pros" earned over $600k on the month (Cole South, Brian Hastings and Brian Townsend). Townsend finished July up around $615k.

John Juanda (+514k), Chau Giang (+428k) and Di "Urindanger" Dang (+292k) all had strong months as well.

Tom "durrrr" Dwan continued his rollercoaster year in July, losing a total of $1.19 million dollars over 11,927 tracked hands. Despite the loss in July, "durrrr" is still up around $300k in 2009 on Full Tilt.

David Benyamine celebrated his new sponsorship deal with Full Tilt Poker by dropping nearly a million dollars (-969k) over just 2,414 hands. Mr. B can't be pleased with that performance.

"KObyTAPOUT" (-717k), "trex313" (-647k) and "LarsLuzak" (-447k) all had rough months as well.

Speaking of "LarsLuzak", the Finnish player has now lost a whopping $3.4 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker in 2009. He is by far the biggest loser on the site in 2009, and it's not even close. The next biggest loser is "papa ninja" (-1.24 million). :knife:

On the flip side, Patrik Antonius is still the biggest winner on Full Tilt in 2009, having pocketed a total of $4.66 million dollars over 91,909 tracked hands. :bandit:

Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin Makes Over $2.4 Million Dollars In August on Full Tilt Poker

The high stakes games on Full Tilt Poker had a little bit of everything in August, as a seemingly sleepy month turned into one of the most exciting of the year.

Much of August's excitement can be attributed to one person - "martonas".

The still-anonymous player thrust himself into the highest stakes in August, battling it out with some of the top players in the world.

Things went really well initially for "martonas", as he/she was able to rake in millions of dollars in profits in just a few short weeks.

However, variance (and a player named "durrrr") soon caught up to the Swedish player, and "martonas" ended the month with a loss of over $700k.

Another player seemingly appeared out of nowhere, winning over $1.15 million dollars in the month of August. "POKERBLUFFS", who is reportedly David Eldar, mixed it up with the likes of Antonius and Dwan, and emerged as the fourth-biggest winner in August.

The biggest winner in August was Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin, who managed to bank over $2.4 million dollars in profits over just 11,459 tracked hands.

Other players that had very strong months in August included: Cole South (+$1.58 million dollars), Brian Hastings (+$1.25 million dollars) and David Benyamine (+$1.04 million dollars).

On the flip side, Gus Hansen lost just over $2 million dollars in the month of August, bringing his losses for the year to almost $2.2 million dollars. Hansen has been on an epic downswing over the past couple of months, as he has watched a multi-million dollar profit dissolve into a $2.2 million dollar loss.

"DIN_FRU" lost the second largest amount of money on Full Tilt Poker in August, dropping an estimated $1.89 million dollars over 24,211 tracked hands.

Patrik Antonius had an uncharacteristically weak month in August, dropping just over $1.24 million dollars over 23,612 tracked hands. Despite his losses in August, Antonius is still the biggest winner on Full Tilt Poker in 2009.

Tom "durrrr" Dwan, despite slaughtering "martonas" in an epic $500/$1000 NLHE battle, finished the month of August down $957k. "durrrr" is currently down over $650k for the year on Full Tilt.

Will September provide the same amount of drama that August did? It's doubtful, as the World Series of Poker Europe takes place in September, and you can expect many of the top players in the world to be involved in some high stakes, live cash games in London.

All in all, August was probably the best month of the year so far for high stakes cash games on Full Tilt Poker.

"Urindanger", "Ziigmund" Up Big on Full Tilt Poker in September

After nine full days of high stakes action on Full Tilt Poker, Di "Urindanger" Dang is currently sitting atop the cash game leaderboard with a total profit of $624k for the month.

Dang, after getting off to an extremely slow start in 2009, has been able to right the ship over the past couple of months, making a total of $870k since the beginning of June.

Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, who can currently be seen playing in the Poker After Dark "Top Guns" cash game, has made approximately $553k on FTP so far in September.

Sahamies continues to enjoy a strong 2009, having made approximately $3.5 million dollars for the year. "Ziigmund" is currently the second most profitable player on the site in 2009, just $300k behind the always strong Patrik Antonius.

Patrik Antonius (+342k), David "POKERBLUFFS" Eldar (+287k) and Cole South (+264k) are all enjoying strong starts to the month as well. All three of these players are up at least seven figures on Full Tilt Poker in 2009.

Tom "durrrr" Dwan is currently the biggest loser on Full Tilt in August, having dropped a total of $612k over a total of 2,326 tracked hands. :knife:

The roller coaster ride continues for Dwan in 2009, as the young poker phenom is now down on the year (-$1.26 million dollars) on Full Tilt once again. Dwan's bankroll has been all over the place in 2009, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up when the year is over.

Speaking of the Poker After Dark "Top Guns" cash game, Dwan is also a part of the line-up as well, and he is the show's biggest winner after the first three episodes.

Phil Ivey (-386k), "LarsLuzak" (-237k), David Oppenheim (-224k) and "Matze_GZ" (-174k) are all off to slow starts so far this month as well.

Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro is having a very hard time turning things around this year, and continues to sink further into the red. As it stands right now, "LarsLuzak" is currently down over $3.7 million dollars in 2009, making him (by far) the biggest loser on the site for the year.

Gus Hansen, who was previously one of the biggest winners on FTP in 2009, is now down over $2.2 million dollars over 186,389 tracked hands.

"DIN_FRU" (-1.3M), "papa ninja" (-1.2M) and "KObyTAPOUT" (-1.2M) are all down at least a million dollars on FTP in 2009 as well.
